NORTH PENN MUSIC AIDES

At over 110 members, the largest instrumental ensemble at NPHS is the North Penn Marching Knights, or NPMK. The NPMK celebrated 50 years of excellence in 2022! The NPMK is one of the most recognized marching programs on the East Coast, and proudly does it year after year without any auditions or cuts. In fact, no experience in music is required to join the NPMK! Everyone is welcome to become a Marching Knight!

The Marching Knights have won the Cavalcade of Bands Yankee Conference Championship 13 times and have 12 USBands Open Class National Championships! Most recently, the band was the 2021 USBands Pennsylvania State, Mid-Atlantic Regional and National Champions in Group IV Open Competition.

In addition to being a force on the local and regional competition scene, audiences at the Orange Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Indianapolis 500, Florida Festival of States, the Winchester, Virginia Apple Blossom Festival, WGI Friendship Cup in Dallas, Texas, and the 1985, 1989, 1994, and 1997 Fiesta Bowls have enjoyed the Marching Knights. Their Major Motion Picture credits include Blowout & Rocky V. In 2003, The Marching Knights were involved with the 100th anniversary celebration of the Philadelphia Orchestra. In 2022, the NPMK performed at the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia on New Years Eve.

If you are interested in joining the Marching Knights, we have open training camps starting in February for Brass and Woodwinds, followed by full ensemble camps (including percussion and color guard) in May. Our season kicks off during the first week of June so stay tuned to learn how and when to join!
